Pilot implementation

As a starting point for the development of the Sustainable Neighbourhood, pilot installations has been realized within the framework of the MGI project. They are structured into demo installations that will bring additional benefit for the integration of these different infrastructure elements through interdisciplinary exchange.

The pilot implementation of the project has been done in the wards of Elamakkara North and Puthukkalavattam. The demo installation is the first step towards the sustainable transformation. The intention is to demonstrate how buildings are energetically renovated, receive a photovoltaic system, and serve Green Infrastructure elements, and sustainable sewage treatment.

The holistic approach of the Sustainable Neighbourhood project showcases how the inter-sectoral and integrated planning and implementation can be used for the transformation of neighbourhoods in the future.
